ith the
Dark Box buried, Professor Edward Fortant and Doctor Nicholas Thornson travel
north on a quest. What could they have
excavated that needs the help of others to
examine? What is this news of the Shamans son? What could the occultist Mr
Daniel Rutherstone have heard that would force him to give up one of his precious books?
In a dark,
lonely house many miles from the original horror, what could go wrong?
Found amongst the
carnage by Nick Malone and Dr Wickham Banks, the only surviving souls, was
the notebook of Tarquin Hughes, esteemed journalist from The Tribune. Here we
print his shorthand notes (with thanks to Alex Hegazy).
11 people gathered in the dining room at 2:26pm
The Professor talks about artefacts from Mersey Island and
an unopened scroll. Hasn't had time to examine the objects closely as has been
organising a dig. I sit next to:
Knuckles - grumpy, large stature, body guard for the
professor, has a gun!
Douglas Banks - a curator for a museum in Oxford, appears
to be quite open, collects shrunken heads.
On the other table there appears to be a group of
archaeologists? From Oxford & Cambridge.
After Lunch
The Professor speaks: 2 years ago on Mersey Island, Essex, a
stone circle was found, and was trying to shed light on its construction. A box
with a screaming face on it was found on the dig, the contents were strange.
Some people were lost to it. Other people who came into contact with the
box mutated into beings that could soak up bullets or became speedy.
The trail was followed for 6 months.
One of the artefacts in the Professor's possession is a tome
discovered by Thomas Armanio, a priest from the 12th century.
Now has to wait for other people to decipher the scroll.
There is also a bowl, chalice and translation paper.
Suddenly 5 hooded people in black cloaks with guns burst
into the Professor's room. One of them grabs some artefacts. 4 of them end up
dead.
Dr Wickham Banks - Asked to come along to the conference by
the professor because of subversive elements. Not warned about gun men though.
Emily Banks - Dr Banks, sister has studied Ancient History,
Mythology at Cambridge University.
Have people been brought here on false pretences?
The Chalice is recovered from one of the dead gun men.
Dr Robinson - is a retired Doctor, has been told his
services might be needed.
Nick Malone - has a large gun and is firing it!
Cook - asked to work here by the professor.
At 2:51pm
One of the hooded ones still lives. We head outside to find
him, there are more gunshots in the background.
Emily Rutherford - Antiquarian, has come here to find out
what was found on the latest dig.
Emily Banks mentions that people get possessive of
artefacts.
A parchment is found with strange symbols on it.
